Our Spanish language school, Escuela Hispalense
is an attractive alternative to the language schools in the big cities
of Spain.
In a small village such as Tarifa, where the locals hardly speak any other language, our students have the opportunity to immediately apply what they have learned in the class room, thus accelerating and intensifying the learning process. The School is small, and so are the classes. This creates a familiar atmosphere to help students get over the initial communication intimidation of learning a foreign language. |

The learning process, interacting with the locals, will increase motivation even more. We deliver to our students the building blocks (grammar, Spanish thinking and culture) to facilitate the transition from class room theory to practical application of the language. Escuela Hispalense was founded in 1989, under Swiss management.

No matter how good your previous Spanish knowledge
is, at Escuela Hispalense you will find a customised course program. The
lessons are taught by a dedicated, resourceful team of teachers. All of
them are Spanish natives. The average number of students in one group consists
of 5 people.
Our course program consists of:Standard courses for beginner intermediate and advances 1 & 11 students are held daily.From Monday to Friday there are 4 lessons of 50 minutes each, divided up into grammar and conversation sections. Accelerated courses are the same as the
standard program, but with 2 additional lessons of 50 minutes each.
Evening classes for all 4 levels are held
daily. There are 2 lessons of 60 minutes each.
Private lessons with a completely customised learning program, according to the students requirements, are also available. Specialised group programs are available, for example business Spanish, literature classes etc. Each student selects the length of his (her) course
program.
If you are interested in preparing for the D.E.L.E.
exam, please note this on your application form. Our courses correspond
with the test guide lines. We have enough test material at our disposal
to facilitate your preparation for the test.

Language studies should be fun.
We all have undergone our share of conventional cramming. We consider visits to bars, movie theatres and watching TV a part of the learning experience. Also, sport activities can be part of your stay here. Nothing in Tarifa stands in the way of an active learning experience. Should you, however, feel like just hanging out on the beach, many beaches in Tarifa invite you to do that as well. Tarifa is also well known for windsurfing.
In the different surf spots pros as well as beginners
can enjoy themselves.
Other activities offered are mountain
biking or horseback riding (excursions
on the beach or in the mountains are available).
Additional activities can be requested at the school. In the summer time Tarifa is a party town.
Even for the art lover we have something special to offer. The former prison of Tarifa has been converted into a museum. Artists, even local ones, exhibit their talent. |

| Each student should be able to completely concentrate
on his (her) language studies.
For this reason we support our course participants before and during their stay abroad with services that reduce their organisational tasks to a minimum. We arrange lodging according to your requirements,
for smaller and larger budgets (approx. 1500 pts/day, depending on the
duration of the stay), in Tarifa or outside of Tarifa.
Tarifa can be reached by plane via Málaga or Jerez de la Frontera, or from other European cities by car, bus or train. If required we can arrange inexpensive car rental from the airport in Málaga. We also offer complete learning and vacation packages including Spanish lessons, lodging, surf lessons, rent of surf material, rental cars or transfer from the airport.
