Due to its unspoilt county side, warm and dry climate, endless beaches, and the view over Africa, horse trekking in Tarifa is an all-year-round unique and unforgettable experience. But there's more.

Riding without ever seeing a car, through fields with cows and (occasionally) bulls, following wild animals tracks, observing wildlife from horseback and experiencing their natural habitat is something not many places can boast.

Here at "Aventura Ecuestre" we organise anything from one hour ride along the beach to one week trekking which should satisfy all your desires for horseriding.

Have you ever  dreamt of galloping along the shore break at sunset?

Have you ever thought of swimming in the ocean on a beautiful Andalusian horse?

Down here, at the very end of southern Europe, facing Africa, with "Aventura Ecuestre" you will have the chance to make these dreams come true.

If you love nature and have a spirit for adventure you will enjoy your stay with us in Tarifa.

Our weekly program

Saturday: Arrival.  Transfer from the airport to the Hotel Dos Mares, very cosy and beautifully located, offering a great view over Africa. Accommodation in typical Spanish-style stone bungalow, a footstep away from our stables and the beach.

Sunday: First contact and beachride.  We take our time to get to know our Andalusian horses as well as the Andalusian style of riding before we explore the endless beaches of Tarifa.

Monday: Excursion to an old pilgrim refuge in the mountains.  A fascinating ride along an ancient cow trail, up to a historic site, called Sanctuary of the Light, gives us the chance to discover the real Andalusian country side.

Tuesday: Bull farm and beach ride.  Watching the famous Spanish bulls have their 'breakfast' in a private Spanish bull farm is a unique opportunity as both the horse and the bull play an important role in the Andalusian culture. Back home we head off along the coast, riding along the beach towards the well known windsurf beach Punta Paloma.

Wednesday: Ride to the national park of the oak trees, "Los Alcornocales".  A day ride brings us far away from the coast, up into the mountains in the natural park of the Acornocales.  We will have a delicious meal in a remote farm house.

Thursday: The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez. Sherry distillery. White village. By car we visit Jerez de la Frontera, the horse capital of Andalusia. Here we watch the spectacular show called "the Dance of the Andalusian Horse". You can see 60 of the most beautiful pure Andalusian stallions of Andalusia boasting the highest level of dressage. After a some fine wine tasting we will visit one of the prittiest "white villages": Vejer de la Frontera.

Friday: Day ride along the beach of the Atlantic ocean.  Over dunes and through pine woods we reach a secret little village, that overlooks the Atlantic ocean. There is enough time for a rest and a sun bathe before we head back to Tarifa.

Saturday: Return.  A last chance to enjoy a ride on the wild coast of the Atlantic and the view over to Africa before we take you back to the airport.
